Tracy A. Akers

She grew up in Arlington, Texas, but currently makes her home in the rolling hills of Pasco County, Florida. Ms. Akers has been a guest author at major book events, writers’ conferences, and sci-fi/fantasy conventions, and was on the steering committee for Celebration of the Story, a literary event held at Saint Leo University. She was acknowledged for her contribution YA literature by the Governor of Florida during the 2008 Florida Heritage Month Awards Ceremony, and her books have been included on the Florida Department of Education's "Just Read Families" Recommended Summer Reading Lists. The Souls of Aredyrah is Ms. Akers’ first series of novels for young adults.

Mission

Our primary focuses are literacy and education. To that end, we have held an annual convention in Memphis, TN for over two decades hosting numerous authors, editors, scientists, and artists. We also hold a free seminar for educators and librarians, a writers' conference with workshops by award winning authors and editors, and annual student art and writing contests.

Non-Profit

MidSouthCon is presented by Mid-South Science and Fictions Conventions Inc. a non-profit type 501(c)(3) Corporation. Donations are welcome (and are tax deductible).
