He is best known for his popular SENTINELS novels, pushing New Pulp into the contemporary superhero and space opera genres, and for the ASSEMBLED! books, exploring the history of Marvel’s AVENGERS comic.
He has written and edited New Pulp, SF, Fantasy, and nonfiction for numerous publishers including Airship 27, Pro Se Press, Permuted/Swarm Press, Maple Street Press, the Rittenhouse Archives, New Babel Books, Adamant Entertainment, and White Rocket Books, along with occasional columns for RevolutionSF.com. He has co-created and edited anthologies alongside Kurt Busiek, Ron Fortier, and other luminaries. His books have been incorporated into reading programs for young people in libraries in several states. He serves as an Associate Professor at Southwestern Illinois College.
