She then promptly joined the Marine Corps where she met her husband, and began flight training. During her second tour in Iraq she found herself writing short stories during her down time. Two of them were published in 2008, and she decided to try her hand at writing a full length fantasy novel.

Her first novel, War of the Seasons, Book One: The Human, was published in June 2011, by Silence in the Library, an Author self-publishing Co-Op that she founded with Bryan Young and Maggie Masetti. She is currently at work on her second novel, War of the Seasons, Book Two: The Hunter.

She currently resides with her husband Ron, in Maryland.

Our primary focuses are literacy and education. To that end, we have held an annual convention in Memphis, TN for over two decades hosting numerous authors, editors, scientists, and artists. We also hold a free seminar for educators and librarians, a writers' conference with workshops by award winning authors and editors, and annual student art and writing contests.
