Running Games at MidSouthCon

Like most gaming and SF conventions, MidSouthCon is run by people who volunteer their time and energy, and (in the eyes of the gaming department), none are more appreciated than the people who run games at the con. Whether you are an old hand at running games at conventions or a complete beginner, you will find GMing at MidSouthCon a rewarding experience.

Benefits

Besides the ever important social aspects and good karma, there are some more tangible benefits to running games at MidSouthCon:

GM Discount Membership -- If you run 4 hours at MidSouthCon membership is half price. If you run 8 hours you only have to pay a small $5 processing and materials fee (which helps to cover the cost of the gaming program book, etc.). If you run 12 or more hours you get a basic membership for free. Banquet tickets and the ConSuite Giveaway must be purchased at their regular price.
Food and Drink -- To help keep our GMs and Volunteers operational we have hot food and cold drinks available in the Operations room.
Win Prizes -- GMs will have a chance to win some fun prizes.
GM and Volunteer Guest lunch -- To help show our appreciation and make sure that the GMs get a chance to see our guests, GMs are invited to a special party held Sunday afternoon.
GM & Volunteer Pizza Party -- This is a pre-convention event that takes place a month or so before the convention, open to all the GMs and other people who volunteer to work at the upcoming MidSouthCon.
MidSouthCon wrap party -- you get invited to MidSouthCon's annual wrap party (usually held in April or May).
You also gain exclusive access to the 'GM Lounge' set up in our Forums for the people running events at MidSouthCon. It is open to all MidSouthCons GMs who have run events at either of the last three MidSouthCons or are planning to run one at MidSouthCon 30. Mission

Our primary focuses are literacy and education. To that end, we have held an annual convention in Memphis, TN for over two decades hosting numerous authors, editors, scientists, and artists. We also hold a free seminar for educators and librarians, a writers' conference with workshops by award winning authors and editors, and annual student art and writing contests.
